Nuno Felting, A Beginning
I have been a felter for several years. I am self trained using on-line classes, tutorials and reading. This particular art intrigues me because it holds mystery until the final product is revealed. A felted piece, whether a wall hanging or garment, is not revealed until it is dry, and I realize what the ribbon, yarn or silk caused the wool to do. There is no end to the many possibilities.
At the Artist in Action Meeting on February 21, I will show samples of felting from some professionals, and show some samples. After a short felting demonstration we will spend the rest of the time making a Nuno felt fabric. (All of the supplies will be provided.)
The object of the instruction is to have fun and to encourage anyone who might want to pursue the art of felt making in the future.
