Classes/Workshops

Classes and workshops are held in the Founders Gallery at Elsinore Framing and Fine Art Gallery, on Zoom and in other locations, depending on instructor. An instructor may reserve space and fill out a request form to hold a class. The forms can be found below.

AIA Contact: Diane Forsberg 503-559-6828

Class Setup:
There are three steps to set up a class:

  1. Step 1 – The instructor must fill out a signup to reserve a slot for holding the class/workshop.
    https://artistsinaction.org/sheet/class-workshop/
  2. Step 2 – After selecting a date in the signup sheet, the instructor must complete a Class/Workshop Request form. Class/Workshop Request Form
  3. Step 3 – After the form is reviewed and approved, AiA will set up the class pages for the website and the class promotion. Once complete – the shop page is ready for student enrollment.

Student Enrollment:
AiA will direct the students to the class web page from social media and this section. The students will then get more information about the class and can register/pay for it. All class information will be shared with the instructor.

Fees and Distribution

Once the class/workshop has been completed, the class fee will be distributed to the Instructor, AiA and Elsinore. The rental fee is $60. The Instructor can charge an included materials fee as part of the Student Fee. The rental fee and the pre-paid materials fee are a part of the deriving the Student Fee (set by the instructor), which is paid by the student to enroll in the class. The rental fee goes to AiA and the remainder will be split 80/20% between the instructor and AiA. The Instructor can handle the Materials fee outside of the Student Fee collected by AiA, if desired. In that case, the Instructor should not include the materials fee in the Student Fee. AiA will collect the Student Fees and distribute accordingly:

  • Student Fees per student – Set by instructor and includes any supplied materials
    • Rental Fee – $60
    • Fee Split Amount = Total of revenue collected for Student Fee – Rental Fee
  • Instructor Portion = Fee Split Amount *80%
  • AiA Portion = $60 Rental Fee + (Fee Split Amount *20%)

In the following examples, there is a comparison of External/Zoom classes vs. using the Founders Gallery. In this case, the Instructor could charge less for the class and come out with the same revenue (provided there were 6 students in both cases).

Example 1) The Founders gallery is used. The Instructor specifies $50 for each student. If there are 6 students, the total revenue for the class is $300. When using the Founders Gallery, there is a $60 fee that is paid to AiA. The remaining $240 is split 80/20 between the Instructor and AiA. So, 80% of $192 goes to the Instructor and the Remaining 20% ($48) goes to AiA along with the $60 fee for a total of $108 for AiA.

Example 2) Zoom or an external site is used for the class (The Founders gallery is not used – no Rental fee). The Instructor specifies $40 for each student. If there are 6 students, the total revenue for the class is $240. The Revenue of $240 is split 80/20 between the Instructor and AiA. So, 80% ($192) goes to the Instructor and the Remaining 20% ($48) goes to AiA (there is no rental fee).

Example 3) Zoom or an external site is used for the class (The Founders gallery is not used – no Rental fee). The Instructor specifies $50 for each student. If there are 6 students, the total revenue for the class is $300. The Revenue of $300 is split 80/20 between the Instructor and AiA. So, 80% ($192) goes to the Instructor and the Remaining 20% ($48) goes to AiA (there is no rental fee)
