Spring Reign Inaugural Springtime Exhibit

A new decade called for a new Artist in Action juried event! We asked artists to interpret ‘Spring Reign’ and show us their best for this inaugural springtime art exhibit. All artists were called; both AiA members and non-members participated.

Spring Reign Virtual Artist Reception

The April 1 Artist Reception at Elsinore Gallery was cancelled. You know why. In lieu of gathering publicly for our traditional opening event, AiA was thrilled to bring our members a video on our would-be opening night that celebrated our inaugural springtime exhibition and its award-winning artists in a more virtual way. Thanks to Membership Coordinator & Spring Reign Chair, Jim Schaff, for producing this visual work.

Spring Reign — A Poem

Dear Artists & Friends,
I dedicate this poem to all of you. In loving spirit,

The art exhibit of this year was made virtual
fifty art pieces celebrating spring
colorful paintings hanging lonely on the walls
waiting to be seen
shouting out their beauty
behind the glass showcase
of the art gallery on Ferry Street.

Fifty art pieces celebrating spring
some framed, others on wood panels,
birds, trees, flowers, earth
in so many colors and varied forms
textures, movement, tones
hidden messages of life and hope.

Lovely artworks
held back in time by social distancing
people staying home
to survive the virus of this time
looking at the art pieces online
behind their small screens.

Spring reigns quietly across the gardens of my street
birds sing, pollinate flowers with their usual joy
without chattering of children playing on sidewalks.
This year spring reigns beautiful and lonely
like the art pieces at the gallery on Ferry Street.
