Art Exhibit: Salem Reads. One Book, One Community 2021
Contributed by Diane Trevett
All 18 openings to participate in the Salem Reads Call to Artists have now been filled. Thank you artists! We now look forward to the February Exhibition.
The Salem Public Library Foundation created and funds Salem Reads which is in its fifth season. This year, local artists were invited to read Walking with Peety by Eric O’Grey and create a piece of artwork in their medium that reflects their interpretation of the book. The exhibit will be displayed at the Elsinore Framing & Fine Art Gallery, 444 Ferry St SE in downtown Salem, February 3–26, 2021.
A reception is currently scheduled to be held in person, mindful of social distancing guidelines with masks required, on February 3rd. The artwork will also be displayed on Elsinore Gallery’s website.

Art Department, Inc. stocks a huge selection of art supplies for the student to the professional artist and offers classes and workshops. Visit them online and at 254 Commercial Street NE in downtown Salem. They have been a long-time supporter of AiA thru the sponsorship of awards and much more. Thank you Art Dept.
