Salem Area Artists - finding, sharing and creating new opportunities
Artists in Action is a nonprofit group of diverse, dedicated artists and artisans working to create stronger ties with each other and the communities of the Salem area. Members share their achievements, ideas, inspirations, and opportunities for artists to develop, show and/or sell their work. Members participate in a variety of activities to ensure that their work becomes a visible part of life in the community.
Artists in Action is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization.
May 15, 2012 - ARTISTS IN ACTION MEMBER MEETING

The May 15, 2012 Member Meeting will be at the Broadway Commons, 1300 Broadway St. NE, Salem, OR 97301 , in the Mexico Room (RM 304).
AiA Monthly Member Meeting are now on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
Time: 6:30 pm till 9:00+ pm. Doors open at 6:00 pm so please plan on
coming early and spending time networking with other AiA Artists.
Come learn about the vision and work of the Salem Photo League (SPL), a collective of local documentary photographers who provide support for each other and who collaborate on projects that shed light on social issues.
SPL was formed last summer after collaboration on the "Faces of Salem" exhibit, sponsored by the Salem Multicultural Institute. Currently, SPL members have been coordinating a monthly street exhibit, entitled "Focus on Salem", on vacant downtown storefronts along Liberty Street, during First Wednesdays.
Photographers Diane Beals, Joel Zak, and Phil Decker will be on hand to share the work of SPL, and to discuss the art of documentary photography.
